The operations of Mountain Desert District are funded jointly by the member congregations and grants from the Unitarian Universalist Association and Midwestern Unitarian Universalist Conference.

Occasionally, we receive grants to fund particular programs in the district. Most often it is the Unitarian Universalist Association Funding Program that provides this funding.

Every member congregation accepts responsibility for helping to fund the district budget by paying an annual per adult member assessment. Any changes to the annual assessment are approved by the Annual Delegates Assembly approximately 18 months prior to the change taking effect.

The 2017-18 fiscal year MDD assessment is $26. The UUA assessment is $60.

The District fiscal year runs from July 1st through June 30th.
