Mission/Vision
1. To promote purposeful interaction among congregations and across the district
2. To foster resource sharing among congregations
3. To supply information, education and advice to inquiring congregations
4. To produce MDD Newsletters and District Executive's monthly packets which will be useful and
visible to all.
5. To encourage attendance at annual delegate assemblies, district conferences and presidents'
forum.
6. To foster the "Awards" system within the district and UUA at the congregational level.
Needs
1. A variety of communication systems
2. Assessment of which system is best for each congregation
3. Availability of specific system as requested
4. Discussion of what "Community Building" really means
Activities
1. Interactive web page for gathering requests and disbursing information
2. Offering specific E-mail addresses of volunteers willing to answer requests
3. Referral system for accessing needed information when requested
4. Method of directing congregations to others for problem solving
5. Purposeful promotion of attendance at delegate assemblies
6. Publicize and promote the awards available at the district level
Organization
1. Web page with links to resources.
2. Reliable sources available for responding
3. Trained volunteers with access to needed information
4. In depth assessment of expectations and needs for communication within each congregation
5. Clusters developed to foster interaction rather than isolation, promoting the best use of
available resources.
Budget
1. Money for postage, hard copies, web site time, professional resources and training of volunteers
2. Travel expenses for service area meetings.
3. Awards committee expenses which may include cost of awards and receptions to honor
recipients.
