Our Vision: Leadership Development in MDD will be ongoing, grounded in UU principles and purposes, and accessible to all MDD congregations and UUs. It will support individual spiritual maturity, develop congregational leadership, and advance thinking on leadership from a UU perspective.

Our Mission: To provide programming and leadership development services to member congregations of the MDD. It will provide people in the district with a sense of identity and purpose as congregational leaders. It will meet congregational needs by addressing issues of locations of training opportunities, ease of access to learning, specific concerns of leadership in a congregational setting, and a variety of delivery methodologies.

Projects:

    • Design/find training opportunities for use by clusters
    • Formulate methodology for training and using volunteer facilitators
    • Promote existing resources and new programs
    • Promote methods to allow more district UUs to attend annual conferences
    • Investigate on-line training

Services:

    • Russell Lockwood Leadership School
    • Cluster workshops and leadership development opportunities
    • Matching congregational/cluster needs to available training sources
