Nominations Now Being Accepted for Annual Awards

  Submissions are now being accepted for the Mountain Desert District’s Annual Awards – the Dale Arnink Preaching Award and the Robert D. Goff “Walk the Talk” Award. The Dale Arnink Preaching Award goes to a sermon that explores and promotes understanding and application of Humanist teachings in Unitarian Universalism. All Unitarian Universalist professional religious leaders, as well as those studying for professional leadership, are eligible to be considered for this award. Submissions are due by Monday, February 1, 2016. King to Chair Ministerial Fellowship Committee

Congratulations to Jesse King, member of Jefferson Unitarian Church in Golden, CO, who has just been appointed as the chair of the Ministerial Fellowship Committee by the Unitarian Universalist Association’s Board of Trustees. Teaching English as a Second Language in Fort Collins

The social justice team at Foothills Unitarian Church in Fort Collins, CO, has taken on the work of teaching English as a second language to immigrants and temporary residents in their community. Building on the UUA Statement of Conscience titled Immigration as a Moral Issue, these volunteers are making a real difference. Students in the programs are not required to prove American citizenship.
